Invited by my brother-in-law, we go on a leisurely Saturday morning hike up to Donut Falls, an icy waterfall. Salt Lake City has several beautiful canyons and up Cottonwood Canyon is a short 1.2 mile hike to a waterfall that has carved its way into a shallow cave. In the winter, the steep, boulder filled wash en route to the waterfall is covered in snow and makes for a really easy hike.
Well, in most spots the hike is easy.
Come watch Brendon and I challenge ourselves with a low-light setting to capture an icy waterfall and see how we both take our images similar directions to deal with the lack of clean detail from the terrain around the waterfall.
